The Tradesman Story

At The Tradesman, artisan woodwork is a family tradition! Owners Shawn and Teresa Oleinik grew up with quality craftsmanship being foremost in their heritage. Growing up with a grandfather and uncle who both were woodworking craftsmen, Shawn grew to love and appreciate the art and elegance of fine woodworking. As Shawn grew older, he apprenticed under his grandfather in the repair and restoration of antique furniture. As a result, Shawn sees every cabinet The Tradesman builds as an artistic element that should enhance and beautify the home.
As a student at Sam Houston State University, Shawn began to realize the possibilities of applying major manufacturing principles to a small shop. With Teresa’s support and encouragement, they began to acquire quality tools and machinery to do small home repairs and woodworking projects between classes at SHSU. Over time, the quality of their cabinetry and woodwork became well known and The Tradesman was born.

The Tradesman is built upon the principle of a quality product at a reasonable price. To accomplish this, modern innovation is combined with a family tradition of quality and service.
